BEIJING: China’s coast guard said on Monday (June 17) that a Philippine supply ship illegally intruded into waters near Ren’ai Reef in the South China Sea, came dangerously close to a Chinese vessel and had a minor collision.
The Philippine Coast Guard said in a statement that the Philippine transport supply ship ignored China’s repeated stern warnings.
The Coast Guard said the vessel deliberately and unprofessionally approached the Chinese vessel dangerously, causing the collision. The statement did not mention casualties on either side.
Over the past few months, China and the Philippines Accusations Dangerous maneuvers and collisions occurred at Second Thomas Shoal, an atoll within the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone.
