In today’s fast-paced business world, a company’s success depends largely on the dedication and hard work of its employees.
If ever there was a time for companies to realize the importance of dedicated and hardworking employees, then it is the best time. Scientific facts show that companies that take the time to celebrate their employees’ milestones or their employees’ milestones not only boost morale but also foster a culture of loyalty and dedication in the company.
Cool Breeze of Soufriere, whose businesses include car rental services, a gas station, a construction company and a conference room facility, recognized a long-serving, dedicated, hard-working and reliable employee last Sunday afternoon. This is a higher standard for any company looking to recognize an employee because this employee has demonstrated an incredibly high level of meticulousness, diligence and conscientious service to his employer over his many years of service.
An unforgettable night
Cool Breeze went to great lengths to express its gratitude to Bernard Osmond, 68, who retired from the company due to failing eyesight. The room where the event took place was decorated in black and gold, showing meticulous attention to detail, from plates to tablecloths, rafters to floors, chairs to napkins.
“My mother left me with a piece of advice that I’ve kept in mind: send someone flowers while they’re still alive, rather than writing a eulogy after they’ve passed away,” Mr. Qingfeng himself, Stephen Abraham, told THE VOICE newspaper, which was on hand to document the special moment.

The balcony-style area where the event was held was filled with gratitude as the afternoon heat turned to the coolness of the evening. Osmond has worked at Cool Breeze for 35 years and the company highly praises his meticulous approach to all his work.
Abraham said: “Mr Osmond sets a great example for young people in the workplace.”
Osmond worked in the construction division of the Cool Breeze Group and, according to Abraham, had been very reliable over the years.
“I’m not lazy every day when I wake up and start working. I work every day with all my heart and soul, grateful for the opportunity to work and grateful to be able to accomplish something,” Osmond said.
The atmosphere was lively when it was announced that Cool Wind had prepared a “surprise” for Osmond. Osmond said he was shocked to learn that there was an event to celebrate him, even though it was also his birthday.
Cool Breeze said the event was a farewell/retirement and birthday party for Osmond.

Commemorating Milestones
When it came time to recognize Osmond for his years of service, the room buzzed with anticipation. Typically, awards are given to employees or those who have reached a major career milestone. These awards are not just about the number of years at the company, but also about the contributions these people have made.
What Cool Breeze did was go above and beyond the norm and set a new standard for employers, not only with personalized messages and heartfelt speeches from company managers and Osmond’s colleagues, but also a gift set for Osmond that made everyone at the event gasp on Sunday night.
Gift

Abraham noted that for Osmond, the event was more than just a formality, but a powerful tool for building a positive workplace culture, outlining that when employees feel valued and appreciated, they are more likely to remain loyal to the organization and continue to perform at their best.
Osmond received a plaque of thanks, and then the company made a shocking announcement: henceforth Osmond would no longer pay rent for his current apartment, which was owned by Cool Breeze.
“He’s going to live in this apartment rent-free for the rest of his life,” Abraham told THE VOICE.
But that wasn’t all. Osmond received a white envelope with a check in his name for $100,000. The applause continued as THE VOICE team said goodbye and returned to Castries.
