With a wealth of experience, including as outgoing Secretary General of the World Evangelical Alliance, Bishop Schirmacher brings a wealth of knowledge and ecumenical spirit to the Forum.
The Global Christian Forum is a joint effort of the World Evangelical Alliance, the Vatican, the World Council of Churches and the Pentecostal World Fellowship.

In April 2024, Bishop Schirmacher spoke for the third time at the Global Christian Forum, the “Global Gathering,” held in Accra, Ghana. He considered the GCF to be, in fact, “a unique gathering of Christian churches and organizations around the world, bringing together all the major streams of world Christianity.”
“We share a common belief in Jesus Christ as the salvation of the world. Therefore, it is very important to study together all aspects of this faith,” he said in a speech on the second day of the conference.
