Engine and performance: The drive system has not changed, still two electric motors, with a combined power of 518 horsepower, dual drive, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. Adaptive dampers have been added to improve road handling, which Tang has not performed well in this regard so far.

Power and range: The 86.4 kWh battery gives way to a battery with a capacity of 108.8 kWh, one of the largest for a tram sold in Israel, excluding buses. The result: the combined driving range has increased by 130 km to 530 km. At the same time, fast charging will be at 170 kW instead of the current 110 kW. Slow charging continues at a rate of 11 kW. It also has a V2L function for charging electrical appliances via the battery.

Safety: The updated Tang received the highest score of 5 out of 5 stars in European crash tests. Specifications for safety systems include automatic emergency braking in forward and reverse, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, blind spot vehicle monitoring, driver fatigue monitoring, a 360-degree display around the vehicle, and the ability to locate children left in the car.

The price has increased by NIS 9,500 to NIS 325,000. A relatively high price, but one of the cheapest in the 7-seater streetcar market: the Kia EV9 costs NIS 430,000, and the much smaller Mercedes EQB costs NIS 440,000. The Maxus Unique 5 is no longer imported in a 7-seater version, and the same is true for the 7-seater models of the Citroën Berlingo and Fiat Doblo, which have significantly shorter ranges anyway. Even the Kia Sorento plug-in hybrid costs NIS 320,000.

Despite the price increase, the new Tang’s price increase is relatively small compared to the Kia Carnival or Chevrolet Traverse, making it more competitive than its predecessor.
