Butwal, July 9. The local administration has banned movement of vehicles on the Butwal-Palpa stretch under Siddharth Expressway from today.

In the Fifth Tinao Township of Palpa City, vehicles are prohibited from driving from today until further notice to prevent possible damage due to the winter river water washing away nearly 50 meters of the road.

Anand Kafle, chief district officer of Palpa, said all vehicular traffic has been stopped from 7 pm to 6 am on Wednesday, July 9, until further notice. If you need to drive an emergency vehicle such as an ambulance during that time, please seek permission from the local government.

Due to continuous rainfall, the road in the winter river section was flooded and vehicles were moving in one direction. The road department office is carrying out repair work on the diversion route.

As the roads are extremely dangerous, the Palpa District Administration Office has asked people not to travel unless necessary. Vehicles other than those carrying essential goods have been asked not to be driven. Even two years ago, the roads were flooded by winter river water and vehicles could not move for a week.
