The Ministry responsible for the economy has convened the first ministerial sectoral board (CASEM) of 2024. The meeting between representatives of the Ministry took place in Ouagadougou on Thursday, July 25, 2024. The board is chaired by Aboubacar Nacanabo, the first head of the Ministry.
The theme chosen for the first conference of 2024, taking into account current issues related to land issues, but also the dynamics of reinterpreting national land texts, is: “Land and property taxation in Burkina Faso: issues and perspectives”.
“Our department’s first board meeting of 2024 provides us with an opportunity to review the activities carried out over the past semester, identify areas for improvement, and consider the prospects for the rest of the year,” Minister Nakanabo told attendees.
According to him, his department has shown resilience despite the difficult national environment. Because many achievements have been recorded. The achievements include the operation of the Treasury Deposit Bank to concentrate public funds for better management of the Treasury, the operation of the savings bank and the investment and mobilization of own resources, which amounted to 1301.14 billion CFA francs. The half-year forecast is 1388.93 billion CFA francs, with a recovery rate of 93.68%. This level of mobilization has increased by 69.23 billion CFA francs (+5.62%) compared to 1231.9 billion CFA francs in the same period of 2023.
We can also note that, according to the annual forecast, the Patriotic Support Fund has recovered 86.4 billion CFA francs, compared to the forecast of 100 billion CFA francs, and has raised 18.35 billion CFA francs for the community budget, 22.96 billion FCFA, a recovery rate of 79.92%.

The department head welcomed and congratulated the special service personnel on their achievements, and he hoped that everyone would redouble their efforts to consolidate the achievements and meet the ongoing challenges.
Aboubacar Nacanabo reminded his colleagues that important projects await them for the rest of the year. These include, among others, the continued depletion of sources of supply of various resources to armed terrorist organizations, the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, the financing of structural and priority projects, the operation of certified electronic invoicing, the continued computerization of land registries, the continued dematerialization of procedures for the award and execution of public contracts and the development of a computerized anti-fraud system.
