(Ouagadougou, July 15, 2024). The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, received this Monday the Canadian Ambassador to Burkina Faso, Lee Anne Hermann, who completed her mission.
“I am leaving Burkina Faso after three years as ambassador and I am here to say goodbye and thank the head of state for the warm welcome,” the Canadian diplomat said at the end of the hearing.
The meeting was an opportunity to assess cooperation between the two countries with the Faso President. Lee-Anne HERMANN believes that the partnership between Canada and Burkina Faso dates back to 1962 and is developing well. “We intervene in development, humanitarian work, and in the private sector,” the diplomat insists.
Lee-Anne Hermann announced that President Faso returned during the discussion to his vision, the Alliance for the Sahel and the relationship with Africa and the world.
The Canadian Ambassador also said that he discussed with Captain Ibrahim Traoré issues related to women’s liberation, which is a matter of concern to Canada.
“I leave with fond memories of Burkina Faso, especially the resilience of its people,” concluded the Head of State host.
