Broward County to distribute mail-in ballots for August primary

On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, more than 200,000 mail-in ballots for the upcoming primary election on August 20, 2024 will be mailed to voters in Broward County. This is a major logistical undertaking that is being facilitated by the Office of the Supervisor of Elections.

Broward County Supervisor of Elections Joe Scott highlighted the scale of the operation, saying, “More than 200,000 domestic mail-in ballots will be mailed out from our new state-of-the-art building on the 16th. This number of mail-in ballot applications is approximately one-third of the number of applications for the 2020 general election. The decrease in ballot applications is due in part to recent changes in Florida law. We hope that more voters will take advantage of the mail-in voting option by visiting our website and re-applying.”

Voters are reminded to sign their vote-by-mail ballot envelope before mailing it back to the Supervisor of Elections Office. Additionally, those interested in voting by mail must request a ballot by August 8, 2024.
