The Italian Brotherhood City Councillors thanked the police for their timely intervention, which led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Tunisian youth who had stolen a car in the center of Bologna. The incident took place at night on Via Independencia and the victim was an elderly citizen, to whom the councillors expressed their solidarity and embraced him.
In their statement, the councillors stressed that crime in the city is often committed by foreigners with criminal records in irregular circumstances. They believe that the current situation is the result of immigration policies promoted by the left, which have made Italian cities less safe.
The councillors who signed the note – Francesca Scarano, Stefano Cavedagna, Fabio Brinati, Felice Caracciolo, Francesco Sassone and Manuela Zuntini – then reiterated their concerns about the safety of the city, criticising the current management of the issue.
