The Ukrainian Air Force announced today that the country’s air defense forces have destroyed all 14 Russian drones that flew into Ukraine last night.
The Ukrainian Air Force said in a statement on its Telegram channel that the planes were shot down in six regions in southern and central Ukraine.
There are no reports of casualties or property damage so far.
Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Ministry officials said Ukraine used US-made rockets to destroy an important bridge called Glushkov in Russia’s Kursk region.
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the bridge was destroyed and volunteers who helped evacuate civilians from the area were killed.
Yesterday, Zakharova wrote in a telegram that the Kursk region could become a target for Western-made rockets for the first time.
Zakharova’s statement has not been confirmed by independent sources.
Kiev claims to have captured 82 settlements covering an area of 1,150 square kilometres since launching a surprise offensive on the Russian border on August 6.
