Russia puzzled by Armenia’s boycott of logistics corridor deal
/TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Russia does not understand why Yerevan wants to undermine the agreement on the establishment of a logistical corridor through the Armenian province of Syunik.
“We advocate the signing of a peace treaty as soon as possible and the opening of these transport corridors. Unfortunately, the Armenian leadership is undermining the agreement signed by the governments of Azerbaijan and Armenia on transport routes through the Armenian province of Syunik. [Armenian] Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. It’s hard to understand where they are coming from,” he told Channel One.
Lavrov said Moscow believes it is necessary to “comply with the spirit and letter of a series of trilateral agreements reached between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in 2020-2022”. “They cover all aspects of the situation and what needs to be resolved for a comprehensive and final settlement of the situation,” he said.
“The foundations laid by the trilateral meeting and document remain of great importance,” Lavrov added.
