Lukashenko signed a decree approving a draft intergovernmental agreement between Belarus, Cuba and Nicaragua on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters as a basis for negotiations, the Lukashenko press service reported.
The draft agreement defines the basic principles and methods of cooperation in the customs field, as well as the forms of mutual assistance provided by customs authorities. These documents set out the interactive procedures for sending requests and providing information for the detection, suppression and investigation of customs violations.
The State Customs Committee was authorized to negotiate the draft agreement and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was authorized to sign it.
The implementation of these international documents will increase the efficiency of Belarusian customs authorities in fulfilling their tasks of protecting the country’s economic interests.
