The Bangalore Municipal Corporation (BBMP) has announced a new initiative to simplify the process of submission and approval of municipal works bills and ensure transparency. The civic body on Thursday announced that henceforth all bills will be processed exclusively through the Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) software.
Currently, bill submission and approval within BBMP is handled manually through physical documents, which often leads to delays in payments. In response to concerns raised by contractor associations and to speed up the bill payment process, BBMP has decided to fully implement IFMS software to process all bills.
Through the software, contractors will be able to directly upload the necessary documents through their login credentials. If they are unable to upload the documents themselves, relevant officials will be arranged to assist them. Both contractors and officials will be provided with a demonstration video on how to use the software. In addition, online training has been provided to BBMP officials and plans are to extend this training to contractors in the near future.
Special Commissioner for Finance Shivanand Kalakeri said Hinduism The guidelines are already in effect.
