Tamim’s mother, Farzana Yachmin, registered a case at the Kushtia Model Police Station on Tuesday morning (August 20). Kushtia Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahfuzur Rahman confirmed the incident to Dhaka Post.
Tamim was shot and beaten and seriously injured in the Bhakchatwal area of ​​the city around 3.45 pm during the anti-discrimination student movement on August 5. He was a student of Class 10. Tamim Hatsh was the son of Ujjal Ahmed of Haripur area.
Farzana Yachmin Ezahar, the mother of the injured protesting student Tamim, mentioned that since July 17, my son Tamim has been participating in the anti-discrimination student movement and non-cooperation movement and marching in different places in Kushtia city. During the anti-discrimination movement and non-cooperation movement that is ongoing across the country, when the accused reached Bhakchatwal in Kushtia city at around 3:45 pm on August 5, the accused carrying local and foreign weapons, batons, sharp chapattis and explosives in their hands detonated a bomb and blocked the way. The accused tried to kill people on the orders of accused No. 1 to 6 (Sheikh Ahmed Kaushik, Milon Mandal, Rashedul Islam Biplab, Mahmud Hasan, Ruhul Amin Murad, Afroza Akhtar Diu). The accused detonated the explosives in his possession and chased the agitators with the intention of killing them with domestic and foreign weapons, batons and sharp chapattis.
At this time, my son Tamim ran towards the six-way intersection to save his life. On reaching the road in front of Tanapara Alang, the accused bombarded my son Tamim from the front, fired indiscriminately and chased him with sharp chapatis (local weapons). The bullets injured him severely and he bled profusely and he immediately fell on the road. Accused Nos. 1, 3, 4 and 13 (Kaushik, Biplab, Mahmud Hasan, Oliduzzaman Shubo) then shot my son Tamim and all the other accused beat, shot and chased Tamim with sticks and weapons.
When we heard the news and came to rescue my son Tamim, the accused opened fire on us. When Tamim fell to the ground with serious injuries, the accused walked towards Bhaktwal and cheered. My son was rescued and rushed to the 250-bed general hospital in Kushtia with serious injuries. My son is being treated there. Due to the busy treatment and collecting the names and addresses of the accused, there was a delay in filing the report at the police station.
“My son was beaten and shot,” Farzana Yachmin told the Dhaka Post. “I demand severe punishment for the accused.

Legal action will be taken against the accused. No one has been arrested yet.
