At a notable crossroads in South Korea’s entertainment industry, renowned actor Kim Woo-bin recently purchased a building that embodies K-pop history.

On the 25th, Kim Woo-bin’s agency AM Entertainment revealed that Kim Woo-bin purchased a building in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul, worth approximately 13.7 billion won (approximately 10.7 million US dollars).

This building is the first headquarters of BigHit Entertainment (now renamed HYBE). BigHit (HYBE) occupied this building from 2007 until 2018 when it moved its office from Nonhyeon-dong to Samseong-dong, and then relocated to Yongsan in 2020.

For BTS’s fan ARMYs, this building is more than just a piece of real estate. It’s a treasure trove of countless memories of BTS, the global idol group where the seven members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook spent their formative years honing their craft, creating music and building a bond that would eventually captivate millions around the world.

What Kim Woo Bin plans to do with the building is still a subject of speculation. However, some fans hope that it will be preserved as a museum or cultural venue to commemorate BTS and their journey. Others envision that it will be a dynamic space where new artists can develop their talents in the same spirit as Bighit’s original headquarters.
