Kathmandu, August 11. Manish Jha, a member of the RASWPA parliament, suspects that Nepal Airlines planes may have been grounded due to financial transactions.
Speaking at an emergency session of the House of Representatives on Thursday, he said the complaints that all Nepal Airlines planes have been grounded were at the public level.
“Our flag is not flying in different regions, on different international routes with Nepali people or on routes carrying tourists. Nepal Airlines is not flying,” he said.
Mentioning that he was detained in Delhi for a few days for C-test and then taken to Italy, he added, “It has been more than 90 days in Italy and we have to pay more than 3,000 yuan in parking fees every day.”
Mentioning that Nepal Airlines is currently losing more than $50 million every day, he questioned whether there was any financial transaction behind the grounding of Nepal Airlines planes.
“There are also suspicions that certain international companies brought their flag bearers to the parking lot in order to give money and profits to other companies as the festival approaches,” said Councillor Cha.
He also suspected that this happened because Nepal Airlines gave the responsibility to a person who had not studied in the relevant field. Another reason is that a person who had not studied in the field was given the responsibility of the position due to political or economic temptations! He said.
Reiterating that Nepal Airlines was losing five crore rupees every day for some reason, he asked, “Is it due to political inducements, people management and some financial dealings?”
