Women in business are encouraged to attend the Taki Tahi Business Summit next week, providing an opportunity to network, interact and be inspired by like-minded people.
The number of women working in the Cook Islands has increased since 2019, showing that women persevere despite adversity.
Businesswoman Ana File-Heather, founder of the Taki Tahi ‘Start-Ups’ programme, said the Women’s Business Summit provided illuminating discussions, networking opportunities and inspiring speakers.
“This summit is a great opportunity to learn, grow and celebrate female entrepreneurs.”
Discussions and insights will cover a range of topics including:
- Do you have any questions? Solve them.
- Center for Innovation and Creativity,
- Chase the dollar – let your money work for you,
- Technology and the online world,
- Health business, and
- High performance leadership.
The live event will be held at the Edgewater Resort and Spa on Monday, July 22-23, and tickets are $14 per person. If you get there early, there are a few free tickets available for women who need them.
A number of local experts and international speakers from New Zealand, Australia and the United States are ready to challenge and inspire the audience.
“We are also very fortunate to have the support of DCD (Department of Development Coordination) to allow our participants to come from Pa Enua,” File-Heather said.
File-Heather drives the Entrepreneur Business Development Program each year
Since 2019, she has seen an increase in the number of female entrepreneurs.
She noticed that during the epidemic, more and more women turned their “side jobs” into full-time jobs.
The Taki Tahi Entrepreneur Development Centre is supported by partners including the U.S. Embassy, the East-West Centre, the Cook Islands Government, and many local agencies.
