The second evening of the second Rubix Festival, held at the Synchro stage in the Montenegrin port pier in Tivat, featured a diverse and high-quality musical program. After a fantastic performance by the most popular drummer in the Balkans, Predrag Milutinović, who opened last night’s program with his Drumbooty project, Aleksandra Prelević Palladino, stage name Dolce Hera, took to the stage. The scholarship winner of the “Miloš Karadaglić” Foundation showed off her amazing talent behind the drums, and in addition, she prepared a real audiovisual feast for the special guests.
“It’s really diverse and I hope the audience will find it interesting. The atmosphere between us is great, since we have more or less known each other for a long time and this return means a lot to us. Among them are guitarist Miloš Pejović, the award-winning choir from Bar-Zim, the Sonris Dance Studio from Podgorica and I am especially honored that Vladana Vučinić is my guest at the show and together we breathe life into our last single on stage. I also present the new music video for the new single, which we made with the support of the Miloš Karadaglić Foundation, which provided us with all possible mentoring support and enabled us to record the music video at Synchro Studio in Porto Montenegro. We also present a remix of Uncommon Dreams, produced by the Bizarr DJ duo, and make something really unusual from my first single Common Dreams”, says Prelević-Palladino.
In addition to being pleased with his own performance, the musician expressed his enthusiasm for the complete Rubix Festival lineup.
Dolce Hera was followed by Fire Dance, and the fiery atmosphere continued. The SLY band members from Italy and the special guest Cayenne Noluck from the United States prepared a real rock spectacle for the audience.
The centerpiece of the second night of Rubix Festival was a performance by French cover band Nouvelle Vague, proving why it is loved and listened to around the world.
“We’re hoping it will be a great show where we’ll be showing a mixture of the new album and our first album which is celebrating our twentieth anniversary. I’m proud of all the songs we’re performing, but the audience has a special connection to the song we’re going to play tonight, ‘In a Manner of Speaking,’ ” said New Wave musician and producer Marc Collin before heading out on stage.
The musicians’ expectations were met and the audience responded brilliantly to every song performed – from the recent hit “People are People” to the classic “Love Will Tear us Apart”.
“I try to think back to when I was a teenager in the late 80s and remember the songs that really moved me and then come up with a new arrangement to re-work the song and give it new life. In September we’re releasing a special edition of the new album which will include two more songs. There’s a song by someone I love very much – Terry Hall from The Specials, which is called Sorry. The second one is in French and was originally performed by Étienne Daho, and it’s called Bleu comme toi,” Collin added.
Members of electronic band Crazy P provided the grand finale for this sensational night of music.
We remind you that the festival was created in cooperation with the “Fešta” organization and Porto Montenegro, which ensured that every part of the event went smoothly.
“We are very happy with the way the Rubix Festival turned out and I think we wrote a serious story about Montenegro as a destination. This year we had more than 45 authors at Rubix. This year we wanted to combine technology, music, art and theatre, just like the theme of Rubix, and in cooperation with Synthesis Studio, our colleagues from A&A Gallery in Russia, tenants in Porto Montenegro and our friends in Podgorica, we managed to combine these four elements during the organization of the festival. All our participants and guests could take part in the interactive exhibition and we presented nine Montenegrin authors who really had something to show. It was a great story and a great news from Porto Montenegro, Montenegro and Tivat this August,” said Danilo Kalezić, PR Manager of Porto Montenegro Marina.
Tonight will be the final night of the Rubix ’24 festival, a festival for fans of electronic music, with performances by local producer Novak (Notsoserious) and one of the greatest musicians of all time, Hernan Cattane, who has an impressive career spanning over three decades.
Although this year’s Rubix has not yet ended, the organizers are already planning new exciting events.
“We are going to the yacht shows in Cannes and Monaco, and we are already seriously planning Rubix 2025. After John Malkovich and Isabella Rossellini, we again plan to bring someone who can match the whole story, so we are already negotiating with several Hollywood stars who will open the new Rubix Festival. We want two or three days of serious music, great authors, all day entertainment. This is our idea for next year,” announced Kalezic.
