Podgorica – All cities in Montenegro received electricity in order to provide electricity to all consumers.
The news was officially announced by the Director of the National Dispatching Centre, Ranko Redžić, at a press conference of the Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System (CGES).
He said regional unrest broke out at 12:25, affecting most of Montenegro, except for the northern cities, as well as large parts of Croatia, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“We have no information about what exactly happened and what led to this situation, this will be determined by the European Association of Transmission System Operators, which is part of the European Commission (EC). He could not comment on allegations in regional media that Montenegro was responsible for the incident.
He explained that this was a regional failure and that an investigation by the official body of the European Commission would reveal what had happened.
He said he did not know why parts of Podgorica were without water and that CGES supplied electricity to the water stations on time.
He also said that human factors were not the cause of the incident and there was no need to think too much about it, as such riots had not occurred in Montenegro in the past 30 years.
He also explained that the reason could also be the green transition, as the market is very active.
Asked whether the cause of the regional defeat occurred at the Greek-Albanian border as reported by some regional media, he replied that all records should be looked at and that this could also be the case.
