Alberta RCMP An investigation will be conducted into a police shooting in Egremont, north of Edmonton. Breaking in Monday morning.
Police said the Royal Canadian Mounted Police received a report of a home invasion at 3:01 a.m. at the intersection of Mountain Highway 220 and Township Highway 584 in Thorhild County, where a car rammed the front door of a house.
When officers arrived on scene, the suspect vehicle fled the scene and a Fort Saskatchewan RCMP officer opened fire.

“Officers from the Sherwood Park, Morinville, Smokey Lake and Westlock detachments, the Alberta RCMP Dog Service and the Remotely Piloted Aircraft System all responded to assist,” the RCMP said in a statement.
A tire deflation device was used on the second suspect vehicle and two suspects were arrested. Police said a firearm was found inside the vehicle.
No police officers were injured in the incident.
The RCMP will investigate the shooting under the supervision of ASIRT.
“The RCMP has also initiated an internal review process to fully understand the events surrounding this incident, including police training, policies and responses,” the RCMP said.
