Albania sets record, champion Italy wins the championship!

Italy beat Albania in record-breaking European Championship match.

The 2012 European Championship was held in Germany, and Italy defeated Albania 2-1. But Albania scored a goal less than a minute into the game, setting a World Cup record. This is the fastest goal of the tournament. Bairami scored the fastest goal in 23 seconds. The previous record was 67 seconds. This was a goal against Greece in 2004. Bairami scored after Federico Dimarcos made a low pass.

Albania got off to a flying start, shocking Italy with a quickfire goal, but that run lasted only until the 11th minute, when Italy equalised through defender Bastoni, who headed home from just inside the goal area. Early in the second minute, Lorenzo Pellegrini’s low shot went wide of the post.

Nicolo Barella put Italy ahead with a shot from the edge of the penalty area. In the 32nd minute, Davide Fratesi passed the ball to the right side of the goal area. In the 39th minute, Scamacca’s low shot was saved by Albania goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha.

In the 43rd minute, Albania’s Asani shot wide from outside the D zone. In the 59th minute, Chiesa shot wide from the right side of the penalty area. The ball was slightly off the goal. Albania almost equalized the score at the last moment. In the 77th minute, March’s low shot from the edge of the penalty area missed Italian goalkeeper Donalma.

Albania’s Bayramy, who scored the fastest goal in European Cup history, was substituted in the 77th minute.

Spain tops Group B with two games played. Spain and Italy won their first games.
