Advocates for Life International (AFLI) Zambia Coordinator – Rev. Oliver Mulenga warned against normalising abortion.

Pentecostal Assemblies of God pastor Mulenga said we need to respect God’s teachings and stop abortion, which stipulates that human life begins at conception.

He said that rampant abortion was a curse on society and families.

In an interview with Radio Icengelo News, Pastor Mulenga called on the church to take the lead in opposing abortion.

“Let us choose life. People should stop having abortions. Go to the health facilities and look at the statistics of the rising abortion rate. The cries of aborted babies reach the ears of God. God will not compromise on abortion. Let us choose life. Deuteronomy 30:19 says, ‘I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. So now choose life, that you and your children may live,'” Pastor Mulenga continued.

“Society is cursed by rampant abortion. If aborted children had lived, Zambia would not be what it is today. Worse still, don’t churches teach their followers about the evils of abortion? We need to sound the alarm on this scourge,” he said.

Pastor Mulenga added: “Imagine a young woman who has an abortion and then goes to breastfeed, whose child will she breastfeed in the institution after the abortion? What a irony, you put killers in charge of protecting life. Life begins at conception and abortion is killing. We have hindered our blessings. Families suffer because of abortion.”
