largeAn 18-year-old boy suspected of stabbing a 19-year-old at a bus stop in Lummen on Monday has been issued an arrest warrant by the investigating judge in Hasselt, the Limburg prosecutor’s office said on Tuesday. He has been charged with attempted murder and weapons violations.
At around 3pm on Monday, police received a report of a knife attack near a school in Lumen. Police later found the victim with a chest injury. The victim was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
Meanwhile, the police learned that the perpetrator had fled the scene on a De Lijn bus. The suspect was arrested by the Special Support Team inside the bus.
Video surveillance images have been captured and are currently being analyzed.
The victim is now out of danger and available for interview.
