A hotel packed with tourists collapsed in western Germany, killing one and seriously injuring eight

A hotel collapsed in western Germany last night, killing one man and seriously injuring eight people. German firefighters searched the rubble for survivors and by morning had rescued four people, including a 2-year-old child, from the destroyed building.

According to the first information, there were 14 people in the hotel at the time of the fall. At one point, a loud noise was heard and part of the building collapsed, Digi 24 reported.

The area was covered in dust from the north. One tourist told German media that he was in the bathroom when the floor beneath his feet fell away. German authorities are currently trying to find out what happened.
