Lack of information or misinformation can come from generalization or polarization of topics. Therefore, It is important to debate this.”

Weyer also suggested that the debate should take place in parliament so that the debate should avoid polarization.

“In a democracy, citizens need to struggle and debate. However, freedom of speech also has its limits, especially when it comes to human rights, the right to life or violence against a specific group. People should stay away from polarization, not black and white in debates, but should support more tolerance,” she advocated.

“Tolerance doesn’t mean I agree with something. It just means I grudgingly accept things that I totally disagree with.”

The anti-extremism centre received more than 60 reports in the first half of the year, with cases of misogyny and homophobia increasing. Notably, anti-Semitism has also increased following the unrest in the Near East.
