Over the weekend, work began on a wall that will separate the valley from the road leading from Xaghra to the beach at Ramla l-Hamra.
Gozo Planning Minister Clint Camilleri said the wall would ensure the road was safer for drivers and all those who use it.
He explained that this concrete wall will serve as the foundation for another rubble stone wall to be built in front to complement the area.
The minister called for maintaining the cleanliness of Ramla Valley as it has now been cleared and made ready for rainwater storage.
