The iconic Amrit Udyan building inside the presidential palace will be open to the public from August 16 to September 15, the Rashtrapati Bhavan said on Tuesday.

According to an official statement, free shuttle service will also be provided from Central Secretariat Metro Station to Gate No. 35 (Udyan entry gate) for the convenience of tourists.

Amrit Udyan is spread over 15 acres and is located within the grounds of Rashtrapati Bhavan, the office and official residence of the President of India.

Initially, it consisted of East Lawn, Central Lawn, Long Garden and Circular Garden. During the tenure of former Presidents Dr. Abdul Kalam and Ram Nath Kovind, more gardens were developed namely Herbal-I, Herbal-II, Tactile Garden, Bonsai Garden and Arogya Vanam.

President Droupadi Murmu will attend the inauguration of the 2024 Summer Annual of Amrit Udyan on August 14, the statement said.

“Amrit Udhyan will be open to the public from 10 am to 6 pm from August 16 to September 15, 2024 (last entry at 5.15 pm),” the statement said.

For the first time, August 29 will be reserved for athletes to celebrate National Sports Day, and September 5 will be reserved for teachers as Teachers’ Day, just like last year.

Amrit Udyan will be closed on Mondays due to maintenance.

The public can enter through Gate 35 of the Presidential Palace, which is located near North Street.

Booking tickets and entry tickets to Udyan are free of charge. Bookings can be made online through the Rashtrapatibhavan website (https://visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in/) or through the self-service kiosk outside Gate No. 35 for “walk-in visitors”.

People can visit the Rashtrapati Bhavan and Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, witness the Changing of Guard ceremony in New Delhi, visit Rashtrapati Bhavan in Shimla and Rashtrapati Bhavan in Hyderabad by booking online (https://visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in/).

During the inauguration of the Amrit Midday Summer Yearbook 2024, students can get free entry to the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum.

Athletes and teachers can also visit the museum for free on their own dedicated days, August 29 and September 5, 2024, respectively.
