Registration is now open for the third annual Government Conference, which will be held at the Co Meath Hotel on 17-18 September 2024. The event will provide valuable insights and allow government leaders to engage directly on important business-related topics.

Participants will have the opportunity to interact with the Chief Minister, other Ministers and eminent panellists to discuss strategic priorities of importance to the business community. Key sessions include:

  • Economic and Financial Update: A speech on economic developments and an update from the Treasury
  • Connectivity and Services Strategy Update: Presentations and discussions on future travel connectivity, national air and sea connectivity goals, and airport service improvements
  • Skills and Workforce Development: Dedicated panel focuses on Isle of Man Skills Council and strategy and policy development discussions on how to incentivise immigration inflows to support skills needs
  • Innovation and Technology: Lyle Wraxall, CEO of the Isle of Man Digital Organisation, speaks on how to activate AI in the Isle of Man
  • Public services provided: The latest information on how public services will be delivered in the future, maintaining the island’s security and updates on immigration procedures

The conference will feature a series of interactive sessions, including a roundtable seminar on strengthening the Isle of Man’s business proposition. Key presentations will cover local economic strategies, connectivity and the UNESCO Biosphere.

MHK Chief Minister Alfred Cannan commented:

“While this year’s meeting focused on business and the economy, the Council of Ministers has committed to returning to the island-wide ‘Hear Your Voice’ roadshow in spring 2025. These combined initiatives will provide the community with opportunities to engage directly with ministers, facilitating open communication and engagement in key areas of government policy and performance.”
