The express service has been re-introduced from today (August 1, 2024).
The expedited five-day service is designed to ensure that those who need urgent travel documents receive passports in a timely manner.
The service was suspended in August 2023 due to changes in delivery services to the islandstaff changes and a significant increase in the number of passport applications received.
The restoration of expedited service is part of the Department of the Treasury’s ongoing commitment to provide efficient and responsive passport services for emergency travel needs.
The Express Passport Service is available for both renewal and new passport applications.
It is important to note that the stated processing time of five working days only covers the time required to process the passport application. It does not include the time required for postage and delivery. After processing, the physical passport must be posted from the UK and delivered to the applicant. Therefore, the total time from application to delivery may be longer than five days.
Passport holders are urged to check the validity of their passports early to avoid any inconvenience or processing delays and to allow time to complete new application forms and obtain photographs or other supporting documents.
With the Standard Passport Service you will normally receive your passport within 20 working days. If we require further information or we need to interview you it may take longer than 20 working days.
The passport public counter is open from 10am to 2pm Monday to Friday at the Isle of Man Passport Office, Ground Floor, Government Offices, Bucks Road, Douglas.
Passport enquiries can be emailed to passport@gov.imFor more information, please visit Isle of Man Passport page.
