Preliminary police investigation revealed that the 57-year-old man who jumped to his death on the electrified metro tracks at Dodakalasandra metro station on Saturday night was trapped in debt due to huge losses in his business. Police suspect that this may have prompted him to take the extreme step.
The deceased, Naveen Kumar Arora, was from Uttar Pradesh. Police said his wife and two children lived in an apartment in Bilkhahalli, while Arora lived in a hut in KR Market, where he ran a hardware store. Police investigation revealed that he was losing money in business and had borrowed large sums from friends and family but was unable to repay.
