A tragedy occurred this morning at the Hardaul Baba temple in Shahpur, Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh, when a wall collapsed, killing nine children and injuring several others. The incident took place during a religious ceremony. More people are expected to be trapped under the collapsed wall.
The local police launched an emergency rescue operation with the strong assistance of community residents. The on-site video showed that a bulldozer was actively clearing the rubble and rescuing people trapped under the rubble. The injured were sent to a nearby hospital.
Sagar District Collector Deepak Arya reported that children were trapped under the rubble when the wall collapsed. Some children were injured and are currently receiving treatment. The rubble at the site has now been cleared.
According to ANI, “The incident took place around 8:30 am when the wall collapsed and hit the children, killing nine children while two others are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.”
