The Venezuelan people demanded freedom and respect for their right to vote before the closure of the diplomatic headquarters, as its staff left the territory this week following the decision by President Nicolas Maduro to sever diplomatic ties with Peru over his election victory, according to Venezuelan electoral authorities.

“We will make sure that your decision is respected and we will begin the reinstitutionalization of Venezuela,” González Urrutia wrote on the social network X six days after the election, after which the National Electoral Council (CNE) named President Nicolás Maduro as the winner, champion.
