Premier League club West Ham United said on Saturday they have signed Dutch winger Cristiano Somerville from Leeds United on a five-year contract with the option to extend for a further year.
The 22-year-old, who joined Leeds United in 2020, was named the English Championship Player of the Year for the 2023-24 season after scoring 19 goals and providing nine assists.
The transfer fee was not disclosed, but media reports put the deal at more than £25 million ($32 million).
“This is the perfect next step in my career. West Ham United is a huge club with huge ambitions and fantastic players,” Somerville said in a statement.
West Ham United will begin their Premier League campaign at home against Aston Villa on August 17.
