Beirut: A source close to Lebanon’s Hezbollah militant group said late on Friday (August 3) that Israel had attacked a convoy of trucks entering Lebanon from Syria.

“Israel struck three times a convoy of tankers in the Hawsh el-Sayyed Ali area on the Syrian-Lebanese border, injuring a Syrian driver,” the source told AFP.

The source added that this was the latest in a series of Israeli attacks on the border area.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war monitor also reported Israeli attacks on areas inside Syria close to the Lebanese border, but did not mention any casualties.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which relies on a network of sources inside Syria, said the attacks targeted areas near border crossings between Lebanon and Syria “used by Hezbollah to transport trucks and members of the group.”

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Saturday that “one of the attacks targeted a truck convoy” and the other targeted “a farm on the outskirts of Qusayr in Homs province.”
