The San Marino Committee commended Alluminio Sammarinese SpA for the rescue and for the guarantees provided to 130 workers, including several cross-border workers, who, after almost a year of worry, will no longer have to worry about losing their jobs and will be able to look for work and face the future with optimism.
The announcement came a few days ago from the mastermind of the takeover, Eng. Giovanni Gemmani, manager and vice president of Scm Group SpA, an Italian group that is a world leader in technologies for processing wood, plastics, glass, stone, metals and composites.
Alessandro Amadei, President of the San Marino Committee, said: “To carry out such a large investment in a turbulent international environment, such as the current one, full of uncertainty, requires a combination of courage, flexibility, creativity and adaptability, focusing on one’s skills, innovating constantly and seizing opportunities that arise in times of crisis and economic slowdown. We have no doubt that the entrepreneurial action just completed by our compatriot Giovanni Germani will be an extraordinary success and will leave an indelible mark on the economic structure of San Marino. On the other hand, Amadei continued, the rescue of Alluminio Sammarinese SpA by an Italian industrial group is a testimony to the unbreakable economic ties between Italy and San Marino, deeply rooted in the history and culture of the two countries, whose destinies have always been intertwined. However, in the face of future challenges such as the intensification of global competition, it is necessary for the two countries to constantly strengthen cooperation and integration. The economic world is constantly transforming due to a series of interconnected factors such as technological innovation, digitalization, energy transition, sustainable development, climate change and new consumer needs, and new economic sectors offer great opportunities for growth and development.”
The San Marino Commission thanks all parties that worked for the survival of the company, namely the courts, employees, institutions, unions, liquidator lawyer Simone Mengini, credit institutions and professionals who collaborated to resolve the dispute.
