Transportation issues of biowaste containers within the arc – mixed waste from the plant during the waiting period will not have any consequences

Kiertokaari Oy, which is responsible for waste management, was having problems delivering small biowaste containers.

According to the company, deliveries of the smallest 80-litre biowaste containers from Central Europe have been delayed, with the last containers of this size in stock due to be delivered to customers next week.

The next batch of side dishes will probably arrive in mid-August.

Kiertokaare said that from next week, larger biowaste containers, namely 140-litre and 240-litre bins, will continue to be delivered.

Another issue causing delays was equipment failure at the company that supplied the labels for the dishes.

According to Kiertokaare, invoicing does not start until the container is delivered to the customer’s yard.

The obligation to separate biowaste started a few weeks ago.

The obligation to separate biological waste came into force on July 19 in single-family homes and other residential properties with 1-3 apartments in urban areas.

In Kiertokaare’s operating area, it is valid in Hailuodo, Ii, Kempelee, Lumijoki, Oulu and Pudasjärvi. In Laage, the obligation applies to certain areas defined by the municipality in the city centre area.

Customers can choose between composting or separate collection of biowaste. Separate collection means that residents have their own or a common biowaste container nearby in their yard, which is emptied by the waste management company that is Kiertokaari’s transport partner. You can still take part in biowaste collections organized by Kiertokaare.

Kiertokaari is responsible for collecting biowaste from residential properties in built-up areas within its municipality and provides biowaste containers to customers.

If the customer wishes, he can also use his own waste container. In this case, the customer must maintain and clean it in accordance with waste management regulations.
