Beres Hammond to perform at sold-out American Concerts during Independence Weekend

Beres Hammond will celebrate Jamaica’s independence in the United States with three shows in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey on August 1, 3 and 4. The shows are hosted by Reggae Festival.

A representative for the Jammins Reggae Festival, led by George Crooks, shared, “The New Jersey show is completely sold out; the Brooklyn show is 85% sold; and the Connecticut show is also doing very well.”

The three stops in the U.S. will take on even deeper meaning for the diaspora as Hammond continues his successful 2024 Forever Grateful Tour , which will also celebrate Jamaica’s emancipation and pre-independence celebrations.

The first concert will be held at the University Street Music Hall in New Haven, Connecticut, on Thursday, August 1. Hammond will perform with singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Mickey Spice.

“I’ve been looking forward to this tour for a long time and I know the fans are ready for it. I can’t wait to connect with my loyal fans and continue to thank them for their support and for being such a big part of my musical journey then and now,” shared Hammond, who is no stranger to sold-out concerts but still doesn’t take it for granted.

Hammond and his Harmony House Band will perform at the Coney Island Amphitheater in Brooklyn, New York on August 3. The next day, Dr. Berez Hammond accepted Certificate of Honor from the University of the West Indies Last November, he would write and deliver the musical prescriptions that have been fans’ healing remedies for decades.

Hammond will round out the weekend with a performance on Sunday, August 4 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), located at 1 Center Street in Newark, New Jersey.^day.

Hammond’s signature soulful demeanor and distinctive voice, often compared to bourbon on the rocks, earned him two Grammy Award nominations.

In 2013, he was awarded the Order of Jamaica by the government in recognition of his “distinction and dedication to the Jamaican music industry”.

Often referred to as the “Otis Redding of reggae,” the singer-songwriter has written many enduring hits, including “Tempted to Touch,” “I Feel Good,” “Putting Up Resistance,” “Rockaway,” “No Disturb Sign,” and many more.
