According to research by officials from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, shopping near the bridge is cheaper than in other neighborhoods.

Good price on the bridge
What stood out in the study was that two supermarkets south of the bridge, Rei Hing Supercenter and Knippoo, offered products cheaper than other supermarkets.
The results of the first control in the first week of June showed that of all supermarkets controlled in Aruba, the best prices for Knippoo can be found in Cura Cabay. Prices of 42 products were checked in 20 different supermarkets, and in 9 of them the prices were better than elsewhere.
There are 3 supermarkets in total and the controller did not find any product in any of them cheaper than in other supermarkets. So their products are expensive in the list of 42 products. We are talking about Wan Ki (Madiki); Heng Seng in Tanki Leendert and Hao Li in Savaneta. The conclusion is that there is nothing cheap in these supermarkets.
Some supermarkets have at least one (regulated) product cheaper than elsewhere: Bloemond Supermarket; Hoe Hing in Noord, Huan Zhan in Noord, Wei Ming in Noord and Lago Heights Food Centre in San Nicolas.
Among the supermarkets with better prices in the first round of controls in June, Yongxin Kumana had the cheapest prices for 42 products among the 20 controlled supermarkets, while Lee Feng O’stad had lower prices for 6 of the 42 products under control than the other 19 controlled supermarkets.
During the second inspection in June, 45 products were included in the inspection list. In this inspection, Knippoo had the best price among the 8 controlled products.
The supermarkets that received poor ratings for not having the best prices among the 45 products were: Feng Da in Playa and Pak II SM in Dakota. In addition to Knippoo, another supermarket with good prices and a wide variety of products was Gong Mian SM in Oranjestad.
In the first regulation in July, more than 40 products saw price increases. It is understood that among the 44 products, Ruixing Shopping Plaza had the most favorable prices for 9 products. Among the 44 products checked, 6 products had the most favorable prices, Nanzhou Supermarket had the most favorable prices, and Fengshi Supermarket also had the most favorable prices for 6 products.
Prikichi was the only supermarket that did not offer the regulated products at the best prices.
In the second control in July, Wan Li Madiki, Bushiri’s Grand Ocean, Tanki Leendert’s Hengsheng, Noord’s Hoen Hing, Montana’s Huan Zhan and Hao Lin Savaneta did not have the best prices for the listed products (a total of 45 products) in 20 supermarkets.
The ones with the most products and the best prices are Youngxin in Kumana and Wai Fat in Mathiveri.
It can be seen that supermarkets with better prices are generally near the bridge. But it is worth noting that all supermarkets with better prices in the list have controlled the 10 products with better prices.
Officials have different types of control. Items used for house cleaning are also products for consumption by consumers.
