My BiH – BHdiaFor 2024 / Business diaspora gathers in Brcko: this is what has been announced

The 9th BHdiaFor Business Forum will be held on July 31 and August 1 at the Business Opportunities Center Brcko.

The event will bring together key players from different sectors of Kutak Restaurants to discuss investment opportunities, establish long-term collaborations and encourage joint ventures, including the possibility of direct B2B meetings.

The forum will enable all participants to connect, exchange ideas and contribute to the development of Brčko as an important business centre, strengthen ties with the diaspora and encourage investments in the secure growth of the local community.

The conference was organized by the Brcko District Administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with organizational support provided by USAID Diaspora Invest and Naša perspektiva.

The first day of BHdia 2024 will start at 6 pm and the event will be opened by Prim, the Governor of the Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dr. Zidjad Nišić, Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation Miroslav Gergic, Speaker of the Brcko District Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sinisa Milic and Speaker of the Parliament Ivo Filipovic will speak at the event. Deputy Director of the Mission Emily Coffman Krunić will speak on behalf of the USAID Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The panel discussion on the theme “How to establish successful, long-term cooperation with the diaspora?” will gather key speakers from the Brcko District Administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the first person of the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FIPA), and representatives of Brcko companies with important contacts with the diaspora.

The second day, which starts at 10am, will focus on the “DiaWorks” workshops, which are designed to spread knowledge and build connections for diaspora investments. Edževit Mešalić, founder and director of ECKOO PTY LTD and founder of Fondacija Laila, will speak online, while Nikola Krivokapić, founder of NK Grupa, will talk about returning to Brčko and investing in new brands through connections made in the diaspora. Leyla Mattison, founder and director of Beyond Branding Agency, will explore how the power of brands can boost Bosnia and Herzegovina’s potential on the global stage.

This year’s forum stressed the importance of strengthening communities through cooperation with the diaspora, the Brcko District Administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.

– Through joint projects and initiatives, Brčko positions itself as an important business center. According to the announcement of the Brčko Administration, the role of the diaspora in local development and creation of new investment opportunities cannot be overestimated, and this is a unique opportunity for all interested parties to connect with each other and contribute to the prosperity of the community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
