KATHMANDU, July 12. Relatives of 17 of the 18 victims of the Surya Airlines crash last Wednesday have identified the bodies.
The head of the forensic department of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Gopal Chaudhary informed about the incident.
On July 9, a Sourya Air plane crashed near Tribhuvan Airport, killing 18 people. Most of the dead were employees of Sourya Air. The pilot, Manish Shakya, survived.
Although the post-mortem examination of the bodies of the deceased was completed on Friday, the families of the deceased still demanded insurance, compensation and relief and said that the bodies would not be exhumed. But Chaudhry said that by 5 pm on Saturday, the families of all 17 people had found the bodies.
