Dhangadi, July 12. The death of a 17-year-old youth has created tension at the Nova Hospital in Dhangadi.
Relatives of 17-year-old Nasib Chaudhary from Kanchanpur Belauri, who is now back in normal condition, said his death was due to negligence at the hospital and attempted sabotage by pelting stones at him.
Police fired three rounds of tear gas to control the situation. District police chief Padam Bahadur Bista said when the crowd gathered outside the hospital started pelting stones, police fired tear gas to control the situation.
According to him, after the tear gas attack, they have now dispersed and the hospital is negotiating with the relatives of the deceased. Chaudhry was admitted to the hospital on July 7 due to jaundice and died at 3 pm on Friday.
According to the deceased’s relatives, it was only on Friday when the situation became complicated that the hospital asked to send him to Nepalgunj or Bareilly in India. At 3:30 pm, Chaudhry died in the ambulance being taken to Nepalgunj.
The family of the deceased refused to reveal the identity of the deceased, saying that the death was caused by negligence of the hospital and demanded that the doctor take action and give compensation.
Although the hospital administration has been negotiating with the deceased’s family since Friday night, no agreement has been reached.
