Union Minister and BJP president JP Nadda on Friday lashed out at Congress Politicizing the Agnipath military recruitment program, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi Visits Salute the soldiers on the 25th anniversary of Kargil Victory Day.
Mr. Nadda, in his ‘Kargil Victor Rajat Samaro’ speech, said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the armed forces are well-equipped to give a befitting response to enemies including terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. He said necessary infrastructure has been developed to ensure border security and defence exports have also increased significantly in the recent past.
The BJP president said national interest was always the party’s top priority and the party had never politicised any issue related to the army. He pointed out that since all reports indicated that India should have a younger army, the Agniveer scheme was introduced to achieve this and the goal was gradually being achieved. “However, unfortunately, for some people, politics is the first priority and national interest takes a back seat,” he said, adding that the government has ensured that Agniveers also get a chance to join paramilitary and police forces.
The BJP president accused the Congress leaders of being involved in the defence deal scandal and said there was no moral significance in observing Kargil Victory Day.
