On June 20, in Dang, a clash broke out between farmers and police, who went to detain the surveyor and the freight office.
Four people were injured in the clash and have been sent to the Rapti Institute of Health Sciences for treatment.
The affected Swargardwari Guthi farmers went ahead to lock down the Malpot and Napi offices in Dang Ghorahi, saying their demands were not being met. They surrounded the offices.
The situation became tense after the police used force when opening the office. Police also fired tear gas while trying to control the situation.
Dang SP Ram Bahadur KC, the district police chief, said police fired 10 rounds of tear gas to prevent any untoward incident. He said the situation was under control.
Prabhu Choudhary, president of the Kisan Sangharsh Samiti, an organization of the Guti victims, said the government had to impose the lockdown due to pressure as it had reached agreements with them several times but did not implement them.
