Sydney Maida Kulić Vugdalić, the principal of the Bosnian National School (BEŠ), is currently visiting Sarajevo and has visited the Sarajevo Cantonal Government Diaspora Office with the agreement of the Honorary Consulate of Bosnia and Herzegovina in New South Wales.

She discussed future joint projects with the head of the office, Emil Ibrahimagic, and expressed the hope that the office would become a window to the homeland for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina living abroad.

Ibrahimagic noted that the office, in addition to wanting to work with diaspora associations, organizations and companies, also wants to open its doors to individuals, helping them and providing adequate advice.

In addition, in order to strengthen cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture, sports, etc., the Office of the Diaspora will carry out professional and administrative-technical work in cooperation with relevant KS ministries, universities and other competent authorities and institutions and local self-government units in order to establish contacts with diaspora institutions, organizations and individuals in the above-mentioned regions. Its goal is to encourage and create joint projects, participate in the design and implementation of youth participation and cooperation projects, as well as the exchange of students and scientific and professional personnel between KS universities and the countries where the diaspora resides.

Among other things, the office will work to inform citizens living and working abroad about Kansas job opportunities and conditions, encourage diaspora businessmen and business associations to connect with Kansas business entities, initiate the establishment of a fiscal fund or foundation dedicated to working with our citizens living and working abroad, support innovators and innovative work from Kansas and the diaspora, and encourage our citizens abroad to participate in enhancing Kansas’ tourism potential, among other things.

The work of the office will also involve encouraging young people from the diaspora to enroll and study under the same conditions as students in Kansas, developing opportunities, namely, setting up a scholarship fund for diaspora students, establishing regular educational visits from the diaspora to young people in Kansas by organizing common projects, summer schools and youth gatherings…

The activities will also involve encouraging and simplifying the procedures for return to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as providing administrative and technical assistance, services and providing information on various procedures related to the management of various spheres of life, as well as providing the necessary information to help them return to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Exercise the rights of people of the Diaspora returning to the KS. The Office will also establish and manage the Register of Diaspora Associations and Organizations. Finally, we would like to emphasize that the Office will be the point of contact for all issues of our citizens of the Diaspora.
