Recently, there have been rumors that the Social Democratic Party is willing to open the door to independent candidates in the presidential elections. The most widely known name is the former chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Mircea Geoană. Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, who was invited by RTV to participate in Victor Ciutacu’s program, said that he had never discussed such a topic with the former Social Democrat, but he wanted to know if they “have chemistry with each other.”
Marcel Ciolacu declares himself an open person and says that so far he has not had any discussions, even informal ones, with the independent Mircea Geoană about his candidacy for the elections at the end of this year.
Moreover, even Mircea Geoană does not seem to have expressed any desire to run again in the presidential elections for the Social Democratic Party.
He did not express his desire. You know, first of all, you have to express yourself, what you want yourself. Mr. Geoană was the chairman of the party and was expelled from the party twice. So, he had a rough life. Mr. Geoană, if you want to express your personal opinion, he will definitely run. I wish him success. Many Romanians hold positions abroad. Let’s see what we have achieved for our country, because you are still Romanian! Why did you go there and what did you do? How did you help Romania? We did not have any institutional discussions, he was the position of Deputy Secretary General of NATO and I was the position of Prime Minister. I had discussions with Mr. Geoană, but I never had an applied discussion about candidacy.
However, the prime minister did not rule out the possibility of such discussions. He wanted to see if there was chemistry between the two.
It is possible to have such a discussion with Mr. Geoană! I am really a simple person. I am an open person. If it is a project, I have no problem, we have a project for the country. OK! What does development mean? If we have chemistry with each other, we think similarly, we have the same principles. No sir, I have no speed! I don’t have. We are talking about solutions.
