Celebrating the 140th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China
version of Regent Hotel, IU – Call for Oviedo/Uvieu This Wednesday, an event was organized by Mercedes Fonseca, Leopoldo Tolivar Alas, Gaspar Llamazares and Alfonso Corominas, author of “Oviedo, La Regenta,” part of his saga about adulterous women in 19th-century literature.
Corominas’ novel will be shown at the Matadero Uno bookstore at 7 p.m.
The Union still laments the lack of plans for events dedicated to the anniversary of one of the great European novels of the 19th century, which is set precisely in the Asturian capital: “What happened to Oviedo and its government team with Clarín and the Regent a hundred and forty years later? “Any other city would have made them the best embassy for the rest of the country and the world.”
