The Manx Care Advisory and Liaison Service (MCALS) is returning to the community after a brief break to host pop-up events.
Last month, an MCALS volunteer drive held at the MCALS base in Garaghyn Glass at Noble’s Site successfully recruited a total of five volunteers, allowing full services to be restored.
Community Centres will be back in operation in mid-June! These temporary services are confidential and everyone is welcome to discuss any health and social care issues, get guidance and provide feedback about your experience.
The dates and locations of these ad hoc meetings are as follows:
- June 11 – Peel Charity Shop: 11am to 1pm
- June 13 – Ramsey Town Hall: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- June 18 – Onchan Library: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- June 21 – Tynwald Street Crossing Community Center, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- June 24 – Castletown Civic Centre, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- June 27 – Jurby Community Center, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- June 28 – Douglas HBN Library 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
In addition, MCALS will launch a quiet room in mid-July to deliver collaborative sessions with third sector partners to help and support people in a joined-up approach, ensuring they receive care in the right place at the right time.

“I’m delighted that MCALS is able to return to the wider community and reach people in all areas of the island. We understand that some people who need help find it easier to speak directly to a friendly face, so providing community service is particularly important.
“I’m delighted to have five new volunteers joining our team and I’m very grateful to them, as well as our long-term volunteers Neil and Roy, for donating their time to help our island community.
“Our service is completely confidential and we take all feedback and questions seriously. If we are unable to answer your question on the spot, we will record the details and get back to you.”
