Manx Care has released data from its Friends and Family Test survey for the second quarter (July to September 2023). A total of 3,654 surveys were completed, with an overall satisfaction score of 89%, with patients and service users rating the care they received as ‘good’ or ‘very good’.
Feedback came from six areas of the Isle of Man Medical Centre – surgery, operating theatres, intensive care and anaesthesia; medicine, emergency care and ambulance services; integrated cancer and diagnostics; integrated women, children and family; integrated mental health and social care services; integrated primary and community care services; and patient transfers. A breakdown of each service area can be found around the hospital.
Manx Care launched the Friends and Family Test (FFT) on 1 August 2022. The FFT is a survey that asks respondents to rate their overall satisfaction with the care and treatment they received. The FFT allows respondents to select one of five answers. This is followed by questions that invite respondents to elaborate on the reasons for their score: 1. Very good. 2. Good. 3. Neither good nor bad. 4. Poor. 5. Very poor.
Karen Maddox, Head of Experience and Engagement at Manx Care, said:
“It is great to see these scores from all areas of Manx nursing; we encourage patients and service users to take a few minutes to complete the FFT test so that we can analyse which areas need attention. The survey is completely anonymous and all feedback is taken seriously. Going forward, we will continue to publish statistics on a quarterly basis to help service users understand Manx nursing.”
