Two people died of heat stroke in Karachi and more than 1,500 citizens were affected by the scorching heat. Relief camps and hospitals provided medical facilities to the patients.

Hundreds of people were affected by the heat during the Ashura procession in Karachi, and two people died.

Jinnah Hospital Executive Director Dr Shahid Rasool said that more than 200 cases of heat-affected patients were reported in the Jinnah Hospital camp till 1 pm. So far, medical assistance has been provided to around 400 mourners at MA Jinnah Road.

According to the South Deputy Commissioner, Edhi Foundation provided medical facilities to 616 patients and Chipa Foundation provided medical assistance to 209 patients in the main procession on Ashura day.

Sindh 1122 Rescue Team provided medical facilities to 250 patients in ambulances and shifted three patients to the civil hospital.

On the other hand, 22 citizens have arrived at the hospital emergency room affected by the high temperature. First aid has been provided to them.

Dr Shadsol asked the public to drink cold drinks in the hot weather and cover their heads with wet towels when going out.
