EINAP President Matina Pagoni spoke about dengue on the “Society Hour MEGA” show.
“This is nothing new, we have known it for many years. Transmission is usually carried out by special mosquitoes called ‘gigas’. Importantly, the patient’s clinical presentation was very complex. In addition to a high fever, he had weakness, headache, myalgia, hemorrhagic rash and swollen lymph nodes. That is why both young children and the elderly get upset when we hear about an epidemic,” Ms. Pagani initially said.
He went on to say: “There are two vaccines that have not yet been signed in all countries. In Europe, the second vaccine has already been signed. Climate change is causing many problems, so we get some diseases regularly. Dengue fever is transmitted by giant mosquitoes, so the region and cities should be specially sprayed”.
“There is no need to panic, this is something that is being managed. As things stand, I don’t think there will be an epidemic,” estimates Ms. Pagani.
